The Divemaster internship experience typically follows a set pattern, while certain activities, such as assisting on other PADI courses, depend on our daily dive center schedule. Throughout the course, you'll engage in various tasks expected of a PADI Divemaster, including assisting with courses, setting up and managing dive sites, organizing deep dives, and conducting skill circuits.
Good to know
To become a Divemaster, you need the following prerequisites:
• Certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Rescue Diver • 18 years old • Logged 40 scuba dives • Completed EFR Primary and Secondary Care training within 24 months • Medically evaluated and cleared for diving by a physician within 12 months
The following topics will be part of your training as a dive professional:
• Leadership skills: how to supervise divers, manage risks and provide emergency management • Dive theory and physics, including dive tables and dive computers • Advanced dive planning & decompression theory • Dive equipment, selection and maintenance • Dive planning, organization and problem management • Professional standards and business principles for dive leaders • Will prepare you to become an Open Water Scuba Instructor
